Sneaky Culprits Behind Your Chapped Lips

Anyone got a Chapstick?
Mm I've heard those words many times. I've even said them a fair few myself. Let's talk about cracked lips and why we get them.
1. You have been using a lip barrier, not a lip balm.
Chances are that barrier is full of petroleum, which is a mineral oil derivative, and which I will not sanction if you are genuinely serious about healing dry lips. All it can hope to do is act like cling wrap over your lips, a film of thick grease. But it can not add moisture or encourage hydration.
2. You have used cosmetics that are drying.
Sorry that favourite shade of lipstick isn't going to do anything but dry your lips and suck out the moisture.
3. You are dehydrated.
The lips are one of the first places on the body to show a lack of water in the system. The obvious solution, drink some water.
4. Hot, cold, day or night? The environment doesn't work around your lips.
The thing is to be prepared: prevent rather than treat. So before you even board that plane, go to the beach, or almost melt your face infant of the heater, protect and nourish your lips before.
5. You keep licking them.
The typical culprit of chapped lips is licking them too much. This is probably the worst thing you can do for dry lips. Saliva is comprised of enzymes that are meant to break down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, which are what your lips are made of.
6. Medication
Dry, cracked lips are also a side effects your acne medication. Yes, Roaccutane is the main one (and the catalyst to unclogd). This drug can decrease the amount of salvia produced which can dry out your lips and mouth.

Whew. That’s a lot! Anything I can do to fight my chapped lips?
Well, I'm glad you asked. When I was on Roaccutane I tried every product under the sun. I mean it! Every balm, moisturiser, vitamin e or natural oil, I tried it all! I really struggled here. I was one of the unlucky ones that smiled and my lips would crack and start bleeding.
Thats why I created and formulated the Crackd Lips Rescue. It truly is the only product that gave me not only relief, but repaired my lips long term.
